Anchorage

This morning we left Denali after seeing a film on the park, lots of information, it is such a beautiful place.  We still didn't see a moose with a calf although we were told there were many in the park.  Last night after I did the blog we went up on a lookout looking down on the river so beautiful.

We stopped in Telkeetna, I cannot believe this place how it has grown, the cruise ships started to come into Whittier a few years ago and the tour buses were unbelievable people everywhere.  Stopped and had a salmon pastie delicious.  Went over to the airport and saw some of the climbers going & coming, good stories were told.  I also got to talk to base camp Annie she was at the base camp the first time I came up here in '98 I met her on the glacier that we landed on, the next time in '04 she was at the desk doing flight reservations, and again to-day she is still there.  She was telling me that the place has grown they now have 10 planes to when I went they only had 3.

We carried on to Anchorage, it has been a cloudy and a little wet to-day.  Went to Ship Creek to watch the fishermen not too much action only saw 1 caught about a 25lb King.

Now we are at Lowes doing this blog and staying here for the night.
